An Overview on Geomancy & Geopathic Stress
How land affects our psychology and health, the collective memory and culture.
Intuitively, I have always felt that there is a connection between geographical location and the temperament and culture of a set of people. But I never knew the particular details until I began to delve deeply into topics such as ‘memory’ and ‘karma’ from a holistic, scientific perspective, due to a dis-eased state.
Now that I know the details, allow me to share them with you.
Cherry Blossom and Soccer
In 2013, a landmark experiment was conducted at Emory University in Atlanta, and what they did was they released the scent of cherry blossoms into a cage with mice. As the scent entered the cage, they accompanied the scent with mild electric shocks to the mice. What they discovered was that after several attempts, every time the mice smelled the cherry blossom, they would freak out because they expected to be shocked.
More interestingly, they noticed that the offspring, up to three generations forward, also showed signs of fear when they smelled the cherry blossom.
Well, this doesn't exist only in mice; it happens even among plant life. For example, when a group of elephants starts to eat the branches of a tree, - when an elephant eats, it doesn't just eat the leaf, it tears the branches and all, which is painful for the tree. When this happens, all the other trees within the vicinity receive a warning (through the underground root system) which then triggers a chemical reaction that turns the leaves bitter or more toxic.
You will always see the elephants eating in one place, and when the leaf starts to get bitter, they will leave that area and roam to a distant place to find new, fresh “product” in which the warning hasn’t reached.
These are significant pieces of evidence showing that something called 'community learning' exists - something that has been known for ages in yogic culture. An entire tribe undergoes suffering; an entire tribe develops certain advantages and abilities within itself, simply because of genetic connections, and the fact that you are in the same ecosystem, people learn without being taught anything. Many tribes excel in certain skills “just because”, as it appears.
Even now there have been experiments on how two boys—one born in Sao Paulo and the other born in Detroit - who were both given a soccer ball. Both were in good physical shape and received the same type of training for four years (between the ages of 8 and 12). They found that a boy in Sao Paulo was able to handle the ball better than the boy in Detroit. All, because of the underlying soccer culture in that location—the ingrained collective memory.
Have you ever lived or visited a place in the world that just had "good vibes" for no clear or distinguishable reason? Similarly, have you ever been in a place that just made you feel bad, and you couldn't pinpoint why you felt that way? Do you sometimes sleep deeply in certain places, while tossing and turning all night in others?
While there are many discernible reasons why a certain area might feel good or bad—air quality, density of man-made electromagnetic fields, the type of lighting in the house, or the general harmony or disharmony of society in that area—a lesser known aspect that can significantly affect how we feel in any given area is the quality of the emanations from the planet itself.
Just like us, the Earth is a living organism that emits its own electromagnetic field at a low frequency and low intensity. The Earth's electromagnetic field emits specific frequencies at specific intensities, which also affects Schumann resonances created between the Earth's surface and the ionosphere.
Earth’s Meridians
From our perspective living on the surface, the Earth simply looks like a space of solid ground, with occasionally changing terrain along with water sources. What is not so clear, as it is hidden beneath this solid surface, is that there is an entire network of underground channels and veins, very much like the veins and arteries in our own bodies.
If an observer were to look at the human body, at first glance they might assume that its form is simple and solid, while in fact, beneath the surface there is a very complex network—not just veins and arteries but also the nerve circuits that make up our central and peripheral nervous system, which are the channels of our body's endogenous electromagnetic fields.
The same goes here.
The living body of the Earth has its own underground network that enables the movement and channeling of nutrients, electricity, and magnetism, to ensure the optimal flow of life force energy. These channels mainly take the form of underground water paths and caves.
The ancient Chinese knew about these underground pathways and their incredible importance, as early as 2000 BCE. The Chinese called these channels "dragon veins," and the smooth and uninterrupted flow of these underground channels was considered vitally important for removing impurities and depositing essential minerals in the body of the Earth.
This underground flow system, the "bloodstream" of the Earth, was considered to be reflected above ground by the atmospheric streams constantly moving in the air, which in turn distribute essential oxygen, said to be the Earth's Qi (Chi).
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) states that blood and Qi are related to each other but have different qualities. Qi is associated with the air element (which is yang) and blood is associated with the water element (which is yin). Blood is known as the "mother of Qi" (feeding and physically supporting it), while Qi directs the movement of blood in the body.
The microcosm is reflected in the macrocosm: if a major aspect of our living bodies is the mutual dance between blood and Qi that keeps all life alive and flowing smoothly, it makes sense that the living body of the Earth would have its own dimension of this system.
What happens if the vital energy meridians of the Earth are blocked or obstructed? How does this happen, and what effects can this have on our health, as inhabitants living on the surface?
Geopathic Stress, Black Streams, and Human Health
Geobiology ("earth life") or geomancy (which originates from Greek and means "study of Earth's energy") has roots in ancient cultures, among them the Chinese, Incas, and Celts.
However, the term ‘Geopathy’ (meaning 'pathology of the Earth') was coined in the 1930s by Georges Lakhovsky, who suggested that geopathic stress could cause the body to vibrate at much higher frequencies than what is normal and healthy, thereby placing significant stress on the immune system. Over time, this can lead to immune exhaustion and dysfunction, making it much more susceptible to diseases and abnormal cell growth (cancer).
It is suspected that much of this phenomenon is related to underground water paths that have been blocked or traumatized in some way, usually due to harmful human activities. These are referred to as "black streams."
Changes in the flow of underground streams can be caused by deep cutting into the ground for building highways, railroads, and tunnels, quarries and mines, and constructing foundations with steel bases. They can also be caused by the presence of heavy industrial sites, power plants, steel piles (highly reinforced buildings with long steel posts and walls), and even old battlefields and historical sites that have been involved in trauma to the Earth and/or humans.
If the Earth is perceived as a living body, we might be able to see how any of the above activities could cause a form of energetic trauma that could alter the quality of the Earth's natural electromagnetic field. This could cause the flow of Qi, or energy, to stagnate in a particular area, changing the frequency emission at that point on Earth.
The basic natural frequency range in which we constantly "bathe" as living organisms is concentrated around the Schumann range of 7.8-8.2 Hz, close to the alpha waves our brain produces when we are in a relaxed and calm state.
However, areas of strong geopathic stress can produce emissions anywhere up to 250 Hz consistently! These high frequencies can be beneficial when encountered occasionally, as they are in nature, but they are not supposed to be the base frequency of where we live. The fastest frequencies our brain produces (when we are highly focused on solving a problem), called gamma waves, usually reach only up to 100 Hz at maximum!
The health of humans and all life forms inhabiting the Earth depends on a constant wash in the healthy emanation of the Earth's electromagnetic field.
If this field is distorted and becomes unhealthy, the emanation rising from the ground in that area can cause disease in a living organism spending a long time in that place. This is especially the case if a person regularly sleeps in an area of geopathic stress, as this unhealthy emission is considered stronger at night, and also because we spend so much of our lives sleeping.
In 1929, the German dowser Baron Gustav von Pohl was asked to dowse a small town in Bavaria with exceptionally high cancer rates. Without being given any relevant information about the town or the health of residents in different areas, he drew a map of all the geopathic stress lines he could detect using dowsing.
Subsequently, a physician produced information on all cancer patients, and the map was superimposed over the living spaces (and particularly the bed locations) of all the residents who had died of cancer. To everyone's amazement, 100% of those who had died of cancer had slept for at least some time over geopathic stress lines!
At that time (around 1930), von Pohl estimated that about 2.5% (or 1/40) of the Earth's surface consisted of geopathic stress areas. Today, in 2024, with all the additional disturbances to the Earth made in the 94 years since then, who knows what percentage of stress areas we are dealing with now.
Geological Faults, Ley Lines, and Geomagnetic Grids
Although black streams (standing or contaminated underground water lines) are said to be the cause of most geopathic stress, there are other earthly features and phenomena that can cause anomalies in the magnetic field that could adversely affect human health.
Geological fault lines are fractures, or fault zones, between two areas of rock that allow each section or plate to move independently of the other. Areas of the Earth with many geological faults will have more earthquakes than other places.
The movement of plates on either side of a fault line can disrupt underground water pathways and caves, distorting the Earth's electromagnetic field at that location, which could be a source of geopathic stress. The United States Geological Survey's website has a very interesting map of fault lines and fault zones in the US.
Ley lines (so named by the Celtic peoples) are larger, stronger pathways of energy, often correlated with large, wide underground waterways. They are more rare than underground streams, but are still found all over the world, and ley line areas were considered sacred by all ancient cultures, due to the high “spiritual” energy of these zones. A large number of sacred structures, temples, ceremonial sites, palaces and cathedrals, as well as the processional routes to these places, have been constructed upon ley lines.
The Chinese called them “veins of the Dragon”, and the ancient Incas left evidence of a similar system they called the ‘seques’ which connected the center of their empire in Cuzco to the four corners, and they invested a large amount of time and energy into caring for and maintaining these sacred pathways.
Likewise, in Europe, most of the ancient temples and holy sites, as well as Christian churches up to the 18th century, have been sited on ley lines. The sites of Avalon in England and the temples of Delphos in Greece are said to be connected by a ley line.
What are the adverse health effects of geopathic stress, and how can we mitigate them?
Although our modern, masculine-base mechanistic science often dismisses the existence of geopathic stress, this subject has been surprisingly well researched over the past century.
Various symptoms, disorders, and severe diseases have been linked to the effects of geopathic stress. These include insomnia, nightmares, infertility, miscarriages, migraines, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, asthma, eczema, rheumatism, hyperactivity in children, and various chronic immune system conditions. It has also been linked in studies to multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, Crohn's disease, mental disorders (including addiction, depression, and schizophrenia), and cancer.
Geopathic stress is thought to primarily affect the immune system, placing it under significant stress. It is likely that geopathic stress affects the immune system in a very similar way to man-made electromagnetic fields, as the body perceives the distorted frequencies of both types of fields as foreign, unfamiliar, and unsafe, triggering an adverse immune response. The constant battle and overactive immune system eventually depletes the vital force of the body.
Side note: I am of the very few who claims that all human pandemics (including COVID-19) are actually a byproduct of geomancy (anomalies in the Earth's magnetic field and in solar coronal storms mediated by resonance), and that viruses, bacteria, and fungi are merely the effect of these disturbances, not the cause. They are pleomorphic. It is the body that produces them in response to internal/external changes in order to maintain homeostasis.
After all, these things are not sentient, and as they are not sentient, they have no way of understanding that their function is good or bad. It’s the lack of understanding of the mechanics of consciousness - the fact that we observe phenomena and by observing phenomena we dissect it to good and bad, based on the risen effect on the surface - that we distort and confuse reality.
It eliminates the potential to reach objective knowledge, and by that unable to come up with practical and efficient solutions, other than patching solutions that only work as a placebo for an anxious mind who was conditioned to be afraid throughout the years.
Conclusion:
When we put it all together, the first thing it shows is that we are just a speck on this planet and all the shouting that we are in control of it is absurd.
The second thing it shows is that the ground on which we live affects our karma. Karma is collective memory. The ground on which we live creates a particular frequency that establishes specific behavior. These create a certain vibration unique to that particular set of people, which is embedded in the ground and the air.
Over the years, out of that vibration, a unique mentality and culture are formed. These, in turn, create community/folk memory. And that memory is passed forward up to three generations without any particular direct teaching of some kind.
For instance, as someone who spent his childhood and adolescent years, it is clear to me that the region known as Israel and the surrounding area has been an epicenter for tension and war for eons of time, because it is located at the center of the Syrian-African Rift. It also has a huge impact on the mentality and hot temperament of the peoples living in this region.
Living on the Syrian-African Rift has brought about internal and external tensions for thousands of years to this very day. Tensions that manifested in both internal violence and external violence, as wars that never end.
Thirdly, thousands of years of tensions and wars in this region have embedded memory (karma) in the collective culture. This memory turns into a vicious cycle that continues the resonance ongoing, which results in continued wars.
Lastly, in general, with the development of industry and technology, when humanity succeeded in developing bombs, and in the extreme case, atomic and hydrogen bombs—revealing this information shows that we have deeply wounded Mother Earth (just think about the number of experiments we conducted with various bombs and weaponry and the residual effects they’ve had on the "dragon veins").
Our loss of natural connection to universal principles, which was severed some 250 years ago in favor of blind worship of rational and reductionist thinking, in fact, drives the imbalance further to the point in which we further tip the balance.
Earth can no longer hold the blockages underneath on these veins, and as a result will release the tension buildup through sudden shock waves, just like when a tight steel cable cannot hold the load anymore and you get this backlash effect. Which means we will experience these blockages-releases as earthquakes, large sinkholes (which in the near future will swallow entire cities), radical changes in the climate, and world wars.
